This year our event will include only the placing of wreaths on the graves. If you would like to personally place the wreath on your deceased veterans grave please contact us at (408) 342-1510.

On December 19, 2020 San José Catholic Cemeteries and American Legion Stevens Creek Post # 642 will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery along with multiple Scout troops and volunteers to remember and honor our veterans through the placing of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Next years event will be held on December 18, 2021.

Remember, Honor, and Teach

Wreaths Across America’s mission is to Remember, Honor, and Teach. “We are not here to decorate graves. We are here to remember not their deaths, but their lives.” Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America.
CFCS San José intentionally remembers and honors all those who have given their lives in service to their country through burial ritual and honorary tributes such as Wreaths Across America and Memorial Day events. It is San José Catholic Cemeteries ministry to remember all those who served in the military, particularly those who gave their lives in sacrifice for the country.
In addition to the American Legion Post #642, Catholic Cemeteries and Gate of Heaven is proud to partner with other local community organizations, businesses and sponsors to provide this special Veterans’ tribute including the City of Cupertino, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.
